Google wanted to disrupt their appearance at Maker Faire, so we created two interactive breaking displays. We wrote a custom program that measured the arc and color of exploded particles that the children stuffed into balloons and turned them into music. Another custom program allowed kinetic jumping to start a smashing device that hydraulically crushes any object put inside. Afterwards, children could download the sound of their explosion or use our lab table to dissect the remnants of the crushed items.
